You are invited to a dynamic evening of thought-provoking women and pioneers in their fields of influence. This event will spotlight the role that women play in society and the contribution made to bring about social change.
Hosted at The Commonwealth Club which was founded in 1868 as an international meeting place for the exchange of ideas, this unique and historic venue continues its mission in a thoroughly modern way behind a deceivingly traditional façade. The Commonwealth Club is a private members’ club but also home to the Royal Commonwealth Society that celebrates diversity and promotes education and multiculturalism.
As part of Black History Month and in association with the Commonwealth 2011 theme, ‘Women as Agents of Change” we will be kick starting our speakers tour with this explosive first event.
Guest speakers on the night include:
· Carlene Firmin MBE,Principal Policy Advisor at the Office of the Children’s Commissioner
· Matilda MacAttram, Founder and Director Black Mental Health UK
· Caroline Marsh, Leading property investor and Channel 4's ‘Secret Millionaire’
· Rosemary Chileshe, Founder of Swanilenga Group and The Roc Foundation
This is a great opportunity to hear from our speakers and engage in debate and discussion on the impact of black women’s involvement and influence on British society.
VW Speaks is the official speakers tour for the Visible Women's Campaign. it is an opportunity to acknowledge women’s accomplishments, to inspire and encourage a new generation of women to aim higher and succeed. It is a chance to hear first-hand from women who are pioneers, determined enthusiasts and relentless in their quest for success and impacting their generation.
